The entire wedding experience and its surrounding events were thoughtfully planned and produced by MAEV Weddings, a Marrakech-based destination wedding planning studio known for bespoke design and carefully curated celebrations. Their work brought together the different chapters of Simran and Arvin’s wedding into one cohesive experience, balancing the depth of Indian tradition with the distinctive atmosphere, architecture and natural beauty of Morocco.
The celebrations began with the Haldi ceremony, one of the most joyful and intimate rituals in an Indian wedding. Traditionally, turmeric paste is applied to the bride and groom by family and loved ones as a blessing for happiness, prosperity and the beginning of a new chapter. Filled with yellow tones, laughter and affectionate gestures, the Haldi created some of the most spontaneous and expressive moments of the celebration.
The energy then shifted into the Sangeet, an evening devoted to music, dance and the coming together of both families. It was a celebration in its purest form: performances, movement, vibrant clothing and a sense of anticipation before the wedding ceremony itself. Against the warm Marrakech setting, the richness of Indian textiles, jewellery and colour became even more striking.
